An Interactive Murder Mystery Musical
(
For 7 to 10 Performers)
Written by Julia McDowell, Michael J. McKay, and Mignonne Profant

Specifics

Timeline This murder mystery show runs 1 hour and 30 minutes. Adding time for serving an optional appetizer course, salad, dinner, and dessert, awarding prizes and any corporate party or private party activities built into the show, the evening runs 3 hours after the start of the murder mystery.  Details on timeline.

Script Set on New Year's Eve, 1928, this murder mystery party immediately gives guests a reason to celebrate any time of year, but also gives that feeling of impending doom associated with 1929.  The script time travels guests straight to the 1920's -- flappers, English fops, prohibition, union organizers, Rudy Valentino, the Charleston.  Everyone is immersed in witty dialogue, intricate plot, and carefree countdowns to New Year's celebrations.  With four different endings, (and different clues given in the show) audiences can enjoy this show time and time again.

Setting The setting is the dining room/parlor of the dirigible,  "Colossus."  Decor, appropriate period costumes, set pieces, and lighting all emphasize the 20s and the elegant atmosphere of an airship, traveling in 1920's style. In a center performance space are tables and chairs and period set pieces appropriate to the action. Lighting is a critical element to create mood and space.  Cabaret songs performed during food service are sung into old-style microphones, connected to our state of the art sound system as needed.

The new "Queen of the Skies," the Blue Star Line's Colossus has the finishing touches applied for her maiden voyage - a race against time and the Blue Star Line's flagship - the USS Gigantic - from Tangier to New York (New Jersey).

Owned by the Blue Star Line, The Colossus is the premier dirigible of its time, traveling on its maiden voyage from Tangier, Morocco on New Year’s Eve 1928. Originally in a race to New York with the flagship ocean-liner of the Blue Star line, the Gigantic, The Colossus must now travel alone as the cruise ship has had an unexplained explosion  - all first class passengers are transferred to the Colossus.
